It was established in 1972 with the aim of being the national school of Nepal where gifted children from all of Nepali districts could get educated, including those of poor backgrounds who would otherwise not receive a strong education. The school was a boys-only school until 1995, after which, with the change of administration from a British agency to a Nepali one, it became a coeducational school.

It is located on the outskirts of [[Kathmandu]] valley.
=Prominent Graduates=
The late prince [[Dipendra of Nepal|Dipendra Shah]]

The late prince Nirajan Shah

Present Crown Prince Paras Shah

Swarnim Wagley

Chitagya Wong Lama (Expelled for smoking)

Count Sachit Pandey

==External links==
*http://www.sebsonline.org/info/
{{Nepal-stub}}
{{school-stub}}

[[Category:Educational institutions established in the 1970s]]
[[Category:Schools in Nepal]]
