University City Community Association in , a community of San Diego, California, is a non-profit, non-political organization which provides and promotes civic, cultural, social, educational, and recreational opportunities for residents and is a voice of the community. Standley Park Recreation Center and UCCA, working with small crews, provide University City with more activities than any other community in the county.

UCCA sponsors or co-sponsors the Community Clean-up in May, the 4th of July Celebration in July, the Sunday Summer Concerts in July-August, the Banana Split Social in August and the Christmas Tree Lighting in December, all taking place at Standley Park and Standley Recreation Center. UCCA also sponsors or co-sponsors ongoing projects, such as the street banners on Governor Dr., Regents Rd, and Genesee Av., the U.C. Beautification and the Adopt a Highway project on Governor Dr. UCCA invites all neighbors to enjoy these events and projects and to consider involving themselves in some way to the planning or execution of similar functions.

Because communication is critical to the community, the UCCA launched in 2002 a monthly newsletter, delivered neighbor-to-neighbor, thus building community, fostering communication and providing information on community topics and issues of interest. For the same reason, the UCCA launched a website, www.ucca-news.org, in May 2007, completely rebuilt in June 2008.

The University City Community Association meets at the University City library on Governor Dr. every second Wednesday of the month from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The monthly advancements of the ongoing UCCA projects, reported by the committee chairman or chairwoman, are discussed by the board. Community personalities, from the Mayor's office or the San Diego Police for instance, often take part in these meetings open to the public.

The Universal Paradigm is a New Age approach to life where many popular religions and philosophies are surveyed for Common Elements that are brought together in a unified whole to form the foundation of a belief system.

Supporters argue that the Common Elements are so basic and universal that they cannot be debated or disputed. As an example, one can go to any society and find the concept of "greater than". One can lay 5 same-sized stones on the ground in one pile and 8 identical stones in another pile and 100% of the people will agree that the pile with 8 stones is larger. This is considered a Universal Truth.

The Universal Paradigm believes truth and trust go hand-in-hand, and that as truth emerges, trust can grow to an almost infinite level between people. Love, it argues, is that almost-infinite trust.

Binary economics states that it is the expression of a new universal paradigm or new understanding of reality that creates a new economics; a new politics; a new justice and a new morality. In its economics aspect, binary economics is a market economics whose markets work for everybody rather than just a few; and it upholds private property but private property, again, for everybody rather than just a few. Binary economics uses central bank-issued interest-free loans (administered by the banking system) for the spreading of productive (and the associated consuming) capacity, on market principles, throughout the population. A summary might be – a justice which creates efficiency and an efficiency which creates justice.
Precipitation (chemistry)

66.57.200.245: /* Representation using chemical equations */

Precipitation is the formation of a solid in a solution during a chemical reaction. When the chemical reaction occurs the solid formed is called the precipitate. This can occur when an insoluble substance, the precipitate, is formed in the solution due to a reaction or when the solution has been supersaturated by a compound. The formation of a precipitate is a sign of a chemical change. In most situations, the solid forms ("falls") out of the solute phase, and sinks to the bottom of the solution (though it will float if it is less dense than the solvent, or form a suspension).

Uses
Precipitation reactions can be used for making pigments, removing salts from water in water treatment, and for qualitative chemical analysis.

This effect is useful in many industrial and scientific applications whereby a chemical reaction may produce a solid that can be collected from the solution by various methods (e.g. filtration, decanting, centrifuging). Precipitation from a solid solution is also a useful way to strengthen alloys; this process is known as solid solution strengthening.

Mechanism
An important stage of the precipitation process is the onset of nucleation. The creation of a hypothetical solid particle includes the formation of an interface, which requires some energy based on the relative surface energy of the solid and the solution. If this energy is not available, and no suitable nucleation surface is available, supersaturation occurs.

Representation using chemical equations
TAYLOR IS SOOOOOO MUCH COOOLERRR THAN PRECIPITAION REACTION! THE END ! (=
An example of a precipitation reaction: Aqueous silver nitrate (AgNO3) is added to a solution containing potassium chloride (KCl) and the precipitation of a white solid, silver chloride is observed. (Zumdahl, 2005)

:AgNO3(aq) + KCl(aq) → AgCl(s) + KNO3(aq)

The silver chloride(AgCl) has formed a solid, which is observed as a precipitate.

This reaction can be written emphasizing the dissociated ions in a combined solution
:Ag+(aq) + NO3-(aq) + K+(aq) + Cl-(aq) → AgCl(solid) + K+(aq) + NO3-(aq)

A final way to represent a precipitate reaction is known as a net ionic reaction. In this case, any spectator ions (those which do not contribute to the reaction) are left out of the formula completely. This simplifies the above equations to the following:
:Ag+(aq) + Cl-(aq) → AgCl(s)

Cation sensitivity
Precipitate formation is useful in the detection of the type of cation in salt. To do this, an alkali first reacts with the unknown salt to produce a precipitate which is the hydroxide of the unknown salt.

To identify the cation, the colour of the precipitate and its solubility in excess are noted.

Similar processes are often used to separate chemically similar elements, such as the rare earth metals.

Digestion
Digestion, or precipitate ageing, happens when a freshly-formed precipitate is left, usually at a higher temperature, in the solution from which it is precipitated. It results in cleaner and bigger particles.
