'''University City Community Association''' in , a community of [[San Diego]], [[California]], is a non-profit, non-political organization which provides and promotes civic, cultural, social, educational, and recreational opportunities for residents and is a voice of the community. Standley Park Recreation Center and UCCA, working with small crews, provide University City with more activities than any other community in the county.

UCCA sponsors or co-sponsors the Community Clean-up in May, the [[Independence Day (United States)|4th of July]] Celebration in July, the Sunday Summer Concerts in July-August, the Banana Split Social in August and the [[Christmas Tree]] Lighting in December, all taking place at Standley Park and Standley Recreation Center. UCCA also sponsors or co-sponsors ongoing projects, such as the street banners on Governor Dr., Regents Rd, and Genesee Av., the U.C. Beautification and the [[Adopt a Highway]] project on Governor Dr. UCCA invites all neighbors to enjoy these events and projects and to consider involving themselves in some way to the planning or execution of similar functions.

Because communication is critical to the community, the UCCA launched in 2002 a monthly newsletter, delivered neighbor-to-neighbor, thus building community, fostering communication and providing information on community topics and issues of interest. For the same reason, the UCCA launched a website, [http://www.ucca-news.org www.ucca-news.org], in May 2007, completely rebuilt in June 2008.

The University City Community Association meets at the University City library on Governor Dr. every second Wednesday of the month from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The monthly advancements of the ongoing UCCA projects, reported by the committee chairman or chairwoman, are discussed by the board. Community personalities, from the Mayor's office or the [[San Diego]] Police for instance, often take part in these meetings open to the public.

The Department of Natural Science Education was established in 1998. In line with the school transformation, the name was changed to the Department of Science Application and Dissemination in 2006. It is the only science media-oriented department among Taiwan. The department features public science education, explanatory tours and design of science museums, writing of science articles for general public, design of scientific toys (events), research in fundamental and applied sciences, as well as training prospective science teachers for elementary schools. The department also has a master's program to provide students with more career choices in the future. The department has the highest number of projects on campus which received funding from the National Science Council. There are many active and various kinds of activities held by the Department Association helping students learn and be more mature. Currently, there are 11 faculty members in the department, including 5 professors, 1 associate professor, 4 assistant professors, and 1 instructor. 10 of the faculty members have doctoral degrees.

The Universal Paradigm is a [[New Age]] approach to life where many popular religions and philosophies are surveyed for [[Common Elements]] that are brought together in a unified whole to form the foundation of a belief system.

Supporters argue that the Common Elements are so basic and universal that they cannot be debated or disputed. As an example, one can go to any society and find the concept of "greater than". One can lay 5 same-sized stones on the ground in one pile and 8 identical stones in another pile and 100% of the people will agree that the pile with 8 stones is larger. This is considered a [[Universal Truth]].

The Universal Paradigm believes truth and trust go hand-in-hand, and that as truth emerges, trust can grow to an almost infinite level between people. Love, it argues, is that almost-infinite trust.

[[Binary economics]] states that it is the expression of a new universal paradigm or new understanding of reality that creates a new economics; a new politics; a new justice and a new morality. In its economics aspect, binary economics is a market economics whose markets work for everybody rather than just a few; and it upholds private property but private property, again, for everybody rather than just a few. Binary economics uses central bank-issued interest-free loans (administered by the banking system) for the spreading of productive (and the associated consuming) capacity, on market principles, throughout the population.
