'''Feng Chia University''' ([[Chinese languages|Chinese]]: 逢甲大學) is a [[private university]] in [[Taichung City|Taichung]], [[Taiwan]]. It was named after [[Feng-Chia Chiu]] (丘逢甲 - Qiu Fengjia), a great contributor to Taiwan in the 1950s.

==History==
In the 1950s, some of the gentry in the central Taiwan area proposed to establish one more university in this area; accordingly the preparation was started. It was entitled '''Feng Chia College of Engineering and Business''', to commemorate Mr. Feng-Chia Chiu (Qiu Fengjia). In 1961 the College was formally established near the [[Dadun|Da-Tun Mountain]] in northern [[Taichung]] City, and two years later moved to the present site [[Xitun]] in western [[Taichung]]. In 1980 it gained university status, having overcome the difficult years of laying a solid foundation.

==Present==
Striving continuously with perseverance for over forty years, the University has earned the reputation of becoming one of the most promising comprehensive universities in [[Taiwan]]. The Ministry of Education evaluation for the academic year 2006-2007 awarded the highest subsidy nation-wide to Feng Chia University. Currently it takes around 20,000 graduate and undergraduate students yearly in its eight Colleges ([[Engineering]], [[Business]], [[Sciences]], [[Construction and Development]], [[Information and Electrical Engineering]], [[Humanities and Social Sciences]], [[School of Management and Development]], [[Continuing and Extension Education]]). Its graduates of more than 150,000, working for governmental agencies and private enterprises, have contributed enormously to the overall economic miracle of [[Taiwan]].

In the contemporary era of high technology and [[knowledge-based economy]], the acquiring and applying of [[knowledge]] should be specialized, diversified, and multi-functional. FCU therefore has directed its construction toward renovating campus environment and facilities to cater for an [[e-learning]] era. The newly renovated digitalized Main [[Library]] adds to the traditional book-storing place with an active [[e-learning]] workshop. The new spirit of vitality is also seen in the establishment of many new innovative institutions, such as the [[Geographic information system|Geographical Information System]] Research Center, the [[Construction]] Research Center, the [[Business Incubation]] Center, the Office of Technology Licensing, the [[E-Commerce]] Research Center, and the Nano-Technology Research Center.

In ''[[MMORPG]]''s, an '''instance dungeon''' is a special area, typically a [[Dungeon (games)|dungeon]], that generates a new copy, or instance, for each group that enters the area. This ensures that there will never be competition ([[kill stealing]], [[spawn camping]]) over resources such as [[mob (computer gaming)|mobs]] within the instance and that [[player character]]s experience minimum [[lag]]. Instance dungeons may contain stronger than usual mobs and sought-after equipment.

Games that have been known to use instancing include ''[[The Realm Online]]'', ''[[EverQuest]]'', ''[[Anarchy Online]]'', ''[[City of Heroes]]'', ''[[Everquest2]]'', ''[[World of Warcraft]]'', ''[[Dark Age of Camelot]]'' and ''[[Guild Wars]]''. This last one uses instancing extensively to help make the product free of monthly fees.

One game known for not using instance dungeons is [[EVE Online]]. Because of the vast amount of space available in the EVE universe, missions for players are created in real space, which any other player could in theory travel to. This allows multiple players to perform the same mission at the same time (in the same manner as an instanced dungeon) but also allows other players to view or participate in the mission, if they discover the location, or if invited to assist by the player who was initially given the mission.

Several games use instancing to scale the [[mob (computer gaming)|mobs]] to the player's level, the average level of a group, and/or the number of players present.
