Interview 8 friends/relatives/family members who have travelled for leisure purpose within the past 6 months. Find out their motivations for travelling, that is to identify the underlying reasons for travelling. Prior to the interview, review relevant tourist motivation literature and construct an interview guide with broad questions to uncover the interviewees’ travel motivation. Attach the interview guide as an appendix.

Analysis: From the results, summarise: a) the different travel motivational factors identified, b) what are the most frequently mentioned/important travel motivations, c) any pattern of differences among the interviewees based on their different demographic/travel characteristics and d) develop implications for tour operators and destination marketers and provide recommendation in terms of the types of travel products appropriate for customers with different travel motivations.
