When I went to meta to discuss the situation with stewards, I was blocked, without warning or chance to appeal, with the absurd "reason" given as "[http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/JWSchmidt Your failure to understand basic policies seems to be a violation of policy]".
