The Carleton Farms Landfill is located in Sumpter Township of Wayne County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The landfill sits on 664 acres ({{rnd/cTemplate:Rnd/b|2.69|(0+(6−3.607117796−0−0.1989700043)round0)|1}} km2) of property and has a solid waste boundary of 388 acres ({{rnd/cTemplate:Rnd/b|1.57|(0+(6−3.607117796−0−0.1989700043)round0)|1}} km2). It is owned by Republic Services, Inc., and is about 30 miles ({{rnd/cTemplate:Rnd/b|48|(1−1)|0}} km) west of Detroit. As of September, 2005, one million tons of waste is shipped from Toronto, Ontario in Canada to the Carleton Farms Landfill annually.
