It will serve as the replacement for the 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport that has been used since 2019. The GT4 R will be the first GT4 car from Porsche to be based upon the 911 model range.[1]
Development
The Porsche 911 GT4 R was announced in June 2026 and will be based upon the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992.2).[2] Changes from the Cup model include narrower wheels, production wheel mountings, smaller rear wing and more weight.[3][4] The price for the US market is $375,000, including import and delivery, while its €265,000 plus country-specific VAT elsewhere.[5][6]
