This success is made possible by matching students with trained, caring, and dependable adult mentors who meet with them weekly during the school day in the classroom or a designated area at the school. VIBES volunteers support struggling students in various ways, including: One on One, Classroom, AVID, College Corps, STEM mentors and Big Picture School mentors and internship mentors.<ref>{{cite journal |title=Volunteers in Bellevue's Education System|url=http://www.bellevueschoolsfoundation.org/SitePages/vibes.aspx|journal=Bellevue Schools Foundation|date = 2017}}</ref> These opportunities are available in all elementary, middle and high schools in the Bellevue School District. Placements are made based on the volunteer's interest and experience, location preference and time availability. Volunteers commit to one hour per week during the school day for the duration of the school year. This award-winning, 24-year program is a collaborative effort between Bellevue School District, City of Bellevue, the Bellevue Schools Foundation. Each year VIBES places volunteers from all walks of life - retirees, working professionals, parents, and high school and college students.<ref>{{cite journal |title=VIBES (Volunteers In Bellevue's Education System)|url=https://www.volunteermatch.org/search/opp914337.jsp|journal=Volunteer Match|date = 2017}}</ref>
