Open design or "open source design" is the giving away of designs for products, goods, and other technologies. This resource is here to promote and create easily accessible and truly open designs, and to allow people to learn by doing along the way. Why open design? Checkout all the open design projects.

Why Open Source Design?

Why open design? Open designs, that can collaboratively be added to changed, and checked have multiple uses. They lower the entry cost to markets. They allow for shared knowledge. Imagine if you and everyone else had electronic copies your cars design prints, and electronic copy of every design of every part of your car.

Brainstorming

Things that would be useful to have open designs for might include:

Open design of other farming implements and agricultural equipment
Silicon and cheap (organic?... roll to roll?) solar cells
RAM
Amplifiers
Those space-foam mattresses
Rockets [1] [2]
An optimized UHF antenna [3]
Vertical farms
3D solar cells
Blankets

Open Source Design Hardware/Electronics

Open design hardware, or open hardware (or open source hardware) may be of interest to you. Support open design and open source hardware. Share and develop related ideas regarding hardware and what not.

How to get involved

For the most part, THERE ARE NO WRONG WAYS TO GET INVOLVED so please do what you think would further the goals of this project but more importantly the mission of Wikademia and Wikimedia as a whole, so long as you adhere to a few basic rules:

Be civil towards others (and maybe even considerate, polite, and respectful)
Be bold
Assume good faith towards others
Act in good faith in your contributions
