Cultural Renissance Period (Kohli Yuga)
The period of Hindi Literature after 1976 is termed the '''Cultural Renissance Period''' (or Kohli Yuga or '''सांस्कृतिक पुनरुत्थान का युग''' (कोहली युग)). This period experienced a notable rise in the number of those critically acclaimed literary works which involved reinventing of Indian values and pholosophhical truths in the current socio-political conditions and day to day life. Since it derived its energy from the deep roots of Indian Culture and Philosopy, it was termed as Cultural Renissance Period.

Unlike many other literary movements (like experimentalism, neo-stuff tec.), this period is no borrow-over from western literature. While its inpiration was derived from the timeless writings of Indian Saits like Valmiki, Ved Vyas and Tulsidas, its hue remained typically modern. In modern times, its basic outlines or inspiration my be seen in the writings of K. M. Munshi, Hazariprasad Dwivedi and Amritlal Nagar. However, publication of 'Diksha' by Dr. Narendra Kohli in 1976 marks the actual beginning of this period.
