There is a strong student union in the college called Noorul Ulama Students Association. Their activities are exemplary for all institutions and unions. They conduct camps, seminars, workshops and debates to educate students and the public about Islamic principles. It allows people to live peacefully without communal strife and to behave in harmony with one another. It is a fact that Noorul Ulama has the reputation of being the first Islamic student organization in Kerala.


The Union has published a number of useful and informative books in various languages. In addition, a souvenir is published every year to commemorate the college's anniversary.

Jami'a Nooriyya is an Arabic college, or an educational institute of higher religious learning, the equivalent of south Indian madrasa, located at Pattikkad, near Perinthalmanna in Malappuram district, Kerala. Established in 1963 by Sheikh Noorul Mashaikh Sayyid Ahmad Mohiuddin Jeelani R.A, the founder of the Jami'a, it is the premier orthodox or traditionalist Sunni-Shafi'i institution for the training of the Islamic scholars in Kerala.[1]

Jami'a Nooriyya is managed by Samastha Kerala Jam'iyyat al-'Ulama', the principal Sunni-Shafi'i scholarly body in Kerala. Founded in 1967 by Shaikhuna E. K. Hasan Musliyar, it was the second Islamic Arabic college in Kerala established by Sunni Muslims, following Jami'a Nooriyya Arabic College, and the first of its kind in Palakkad district.
