The Carleton Farms Landfill is located in Sumpter Township of Wayne County in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is owned by Republic Services, Inc., and is about 30 miles ({{rnd/cTemplate:Rnd/b|48|(1−1)|0}} km) west of Detroit. As of September, 2005, one million tons of waste is shipped from Toronto, Ontario in Canada to the Carleton Farms Landfill annually.[1] This site accounts for about 10% of Michigan's total waste.
