Marketing

The first trailer for the pilot episode, "Fire and Ice," was released 25 December 2008. The reception was mostly positive. Fans called the trailer "epic,"[2] praising the high production values and the use of the Ice Warriors.[3] Other Doctor Who fans questioned the legality of the production, accusing the producers of violating copyright law. Some Doctor Who fans criticized the idea of an American production of a classic British television series,[4] despite the fact that some members of the Doctor Who 2009 production are British.[5]

The second trailer was released 7 May 2009 and was met with extremely positive feedback.[6]

The production launched its own YouTube channel on 10 May 2009 and became the #67 Most Subscribed Channel and #14 Most Subscribed Director for the week.[7]
