Kane Sute is one of Danzan Ryu's 20 throws in the Nage No Te list.
In Kodokan Judo, Kane Sute is known as Kani Basami.[1] Kani Basami is one of the techniques adopted later by the Kodokan into their Shinmeisho No Waza (newly accepted techniques) list.
Kane Sute, aka Kani Basami, is categorized as a side sacrifice, Yoko-sutemi.
Kani Basami is one of the four forbidden techniques, Kinshi-waza.[2] Currently, not only is Kani Basami prohibited in Judo competitions, [3] but also in some Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournaments.[4]
