Making money is a popular term for earning money. Everyone has to have shelter, food, and water. These things cost money, so in order to be able to provide these necessities for oneself, most often, one must be able to make or earn money. Having an income is important in modern society. Obtaining an education can help one increase their income earning potential. An education is not required to be able to make money though, however.
