Not to be a complainer, but why are so many pages protected? Even the discussion page of the main page is protected.

Also, I don't think I like the way recent changes looks. Is that an extension you installed? It takes up too much space and makes you have to scroll down.

Is CC-by-SA a done deal? If so I think there's a way to modify MediaWiki too so that the emblem in the bottom left corner is accurate. Emperor 02:46, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for the feedback. I got the recent changes extension @ http://www.organicdesign.co.nz/Home ... I could not stand it when this one had a, get this, HORIZONTAL SCROLL, so I changed it back to what is "standard"... then I switched it back. It does take up a lot of space, and it is difficult to see when the day changes, and it doesn't have some of the nifty java features... but right now, I prefer it, personally, for the overall aesthetic and somewhat practical value. I can definitely see how someone could hold a different opinion, however.

Looks like your wiki is on it's way to being one of the most technologically advanced. One extension I think might be nice is the semantic tagging thing that MyWikiBiz uses. Of course all their pages take a while to load and show error messages, so I don't know. Emperor 17:40, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

CC-by-SA - it looks like there is a high chance it will be approved by the board. So I figure about June, I will change the settings here so that a CC-by-sa logo will display in the bottom left corner. I decline to want to take the chance to jump the gun. I think contributions will still be dual licensed, like they are now, but in the future, the CC-by-sa will be the one that is made extra apparent.

If you figure out how to change that little emblem please remind me. It's been so long since I set up the MediaWiki that I've forgotten, and that documentation isn't the best. Emperor 17:40, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

I have my own personal reasons why I have decided to go a little-protection happy. I figure however that there are /plenty/ of other pages to edit, so maybe if people do start editing pages, and there seems to be a shortage... and maybe there are some people around who might revert any vandalism before I ever have to lay my eyes on it, then I will maybe start thinking about unlocking some of them. What I'd actually like to do is make a gradation of the rights, or make it so after some threshold, they will be unlocked. We'll see. I should go around and at least make sure the talk pages are mostly unlocked, however...

Yes the cool thing about a new wiki is all the wide open white spots on the map. I figured that my talk page was as good a place as any. Emperor 17:40, 23 May 2009 (UTC)
