In MMORPGs, an instance dungeon is a special area, typically a dungeon, that generates a new copy, or instance, for each group that enters the area. This ensures that there will never be competition (kill stealing, spawn camping) over mobs within the instance and that player characters receive a minimum of lag, and players would therefore be kept happy as they get the benefits of training a character online without having to continuously search for a dungeon that is less crowded. Instance dungeons may contain stronger than usual mobs and sought-after equipment, making it absolutely ideal for character training and in extremely competitive situations.

However, some players may feel cheated due to the lack of multiplayer interactions in an instance dungeon that should be inherent in MMORPGs, as they believe that online gameplay should have its drawbacks and benefits at the same time to experience "real" gameplay. Again this is simply an opinion of ideology.
