Mount Vernon is a district in the southeastern sector of Fairfax County, VA which encompasses the area along the Potomac River, Mount Vernon, Fort Belvoir, Gunston Hall and Lorton. The office of the district is on 2511 Parkers Lane, Alexandria, VA 22306; town hall meetings are held here. As of 2010 [1] the population was 127,637. Its official newspaper is the Mount Vernon Gazzette.
