Budhanilkantha School is Nepal's premier boarding high school and middle school. It was established in 1972 with the aim of being the national school of Nepal where gifted children from all corners of Nepal could get educated, including those from poor economic backgrounds who might otherwise not receive a strong education. About one-third of the students recieve some form of scholarship from the government or private British organizations to cover the cost of their education and stay in the school.
