Liberty Airport also known as Grossinger's Airport was a public use airport in Liberty, New York, United States. The airport was owned by Grossinger's Catskill Resort Hotel and located 2 miles ({{rnd/cTemplate:Rnd/b|3.2|(1−0)|1}} km) north of the resort.
Facilities and aircraft
Liberty Airport covered an area of Template:Convert/acres at an elevation of 1,590 feet ({{rnd/cTemplate:Rnd/b|480|(−1+(0-−0.515985037−0−0.1989700043)round0)|0}} m) above mean sea level. By April 1947, Liberty Airport had a 2,800 feet ({{rnd/cTemplate:Rnd/b|850|(1−2)|0}} m) north/south runway and had expansion plans to 4,000 feet ({{rnd/cTemplate:Rnd/b|1,200|(1−3)|0}} m). A second 1,800 feet ({{rnd/cTemplate:Rnd/b|550|(1−2)|0}} m) rock and stone runway ran east/west.[1]
Consolidated Air Transit of East Orange, NJ[2] operated DC-3s with tail numbers Template:Airreg[1] and Template:Airreg at Liberty Airport in April 1947.
Mohawk Airlines flew a Sikorsky S-55 with tail number Template:Airreg [3] with 13 flights a week between Liberty Airport and Newark Airport.
