Medicine is the art and science of the causation, diagnosis and treatment of disease and injury. It is both an area of knowledge – a science of body systems, their diseases and treatment – and the applied practice of that knowledge. However, medicine often refers more specifically to matters dealt with by physicians and surgeons.
Overview of the Wikiversity School of Medicine
The aim of the school of medicine is to provide learning materials and advice primarily, but not exclusively, to enhance the knowledge and skills of medical students.
Learning Outcomes
For each specialty, the following learning outcomes will be achieved:

- Medical and surgical treatment options
Skills
- History taking
- Examinations
- Interpretating Investigative Imaging and Data
- Proficiency in OSCE examinations
Divisions and Departments
The divisions of the school are created in such away that anyone accessing the school can find accurate and precise information quickly and efficiently.
Medicine comprises various specialities and, although they overlap significantly, the learning outcomes are best achieved when learning each system-based specialty on its own.
Divisions and Departments of the School exist on pages in "topic" namespace. Start the name of departments with the "Topic:" prefix; departments reside in the Topic: namespace. Departments and divisions link to learning materials and learning projects. Divisions can link subdivisions or to departments. For more information on schools, divisions and departments look at the Naming Conventions.
