The Letters

Greek Name Α α Alpha

    A - Pronounced like the English a in drama.    

Β β Beta

    B - Pronounced like the English b.             

Γ γ Gamma

    G - Pronounced like the English g.
         When followed by γ, κ, χ, or ξ it is pronounced like /ng/

Δ δ Delta

    D - Pronounced like the English d.        

Ε ε Epsilon

    E - Pronounced like the e in bed.

Ζ ζ Zeta

    Z - Commonly translated like z, however, it is more correctly the combination of a seperate s      and d sound as in the word wisdom.
