The Mountain Warfare Training Center (MWTC) is a United States Marine Corps installation located in Bridgeport, California. The training center exists to train units in mountain and cold weather warfare.
Mission
MWTC conducts formal schools for individuals and MAGTF training in cold weather and mountain operations. The training emphasizes development of both individual and unit mountain skills with primary emphasis on enhancing overall combat capability, in support of warfighting in mountainous environment. It is also involved in testing cold weather clothing, equipment, human performance, rough terrain vehicles, and developing doctrine and concepts to enhance the Marine Corps' ability to fight and win in mountain and cold weather environments.
