Reasons people may edit here are multiple. Most people have a desire to learn. Knowledge is power. Wikademia can be used to learn and teach. For those who have knowledge, they can have genuine enjoyment in teaching others and sharing their knowledge. Editing is easy; there is no complicated signup; you don't even have to be logged in. What is the general outlook, goals and objectives of this wiki? How will people learn of the existence of this wiki and what will motivate them to edit here? --JWSchmidt 22:22, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
- Wikademia is a place for learning and original research. The outlook is that it may close in about a year (when the cheap starter subscription runs out) if it does not have some success, whatever that means. So the outlook, is unknown, if that is what you mean. With respect to goals and objectives, originally, on the "main" page I included "Wikademia is a place for learning and original research". I still think that holds true. So then the goal would seem to be have Wikademia be a place for learning and original research. Wider goals, or visions that could be outcomes of this might be to better society the lives of people who use and do not use this wiki.
- I'm not sure what will motivate them to edit. Honestly, I thought of allowing people to put Adsense units on pages, but right now, I'm leaning against this idea for a variety of reasons.
- I'm not sure what will motivate people to edit here. I've run a variety of wikis that others could edit if they desired, but I've not had a lot of success in that regard. So I'm probably missing some key component to a working formula of what will "motivate [people] to edit here".
