Nguyễn Thành Nam (b.1961) is a Vietnamese businessman, General Director of FPT Group.
Biography
- He was born on August 17, 1961 in Nam Dinh, Vietnam.
- In 1976, at the age of 15, he was admitted into a Mathematics specializing class of the Vietnam National University High school.
- In 1988, Nam received his PhD in Mathematics at Lomonosov University in Moscow, Soviet and began his career at FPT Corporation, as one of the first Programmers, System Analysts and Designers, in the same year. He then focused on business software in banking and enterprise management and his team participated in almost all the major computerization projects in Vietnam during the next decade.
- In 1997, Nam and Truong Gia Binh were determined to establish FPT Software as a key player in the global software market. With the establishment of the FPT Software division in late 1999, Nam was appointed CEO and Managing Director. His vision is to position FPT Software as the region's leading software service provider.
- On December 1 2008, Nam became Chairman of FPT Software.
- On April 15 2009, he became the head of FPT Group.
