Basic Tenses

• Remember: to _____ is -ir
• Stem is Infinitive minus -ir
  • Stem of "to go"/"vamir" is vam-

• Gerund (like swimming as a noun) = -igi
  • To eat = Manħir
  • Eating (as a noun) = Manħigi
  • He likes eating = I lykys manħigi
• Adjective (the dog that likes chocolate) = (after ending) -ik/äk/ok
  • Go after noun and are hyphenated (see example)
  • the dog that likes chocolate = lo hundo lykysok-qokolatä
• Imperitive (a command) = -ün
  • Go! = Vamün!
• If a verb is not the main verb (can eat) you add n'-, unless it also has what is like a subject (do you want me to paint a portrait of you?)
  • M'- is the stem begins with "n"
  • Can fly = Hwänys n'flugir
  • Was able to be eating in the distant past= Hwänës n'manħigir
• Near past and future add Xotau (short) before the non-distant verb
  • She will fly in the near future = Ä xotau flugos.
