Why is this project needed?

If the Wikiversity is to work then we need effective methods of creating learning content. This project aims to explore methods of creating learning projects.

This project is open to everyone. As a tactic to move this project forward active members of the community will be asked if they wish to contribute.

How long will this project take?

This is an open ended project. However it is important that it builds some momentum so a time line will be developed. The first phase of the project should be finished by 1st of November 2006.

How will this project be conducted?

I would like to conduct this project as a piece of Participatory Action Research. This involves a group of people working together to improve their own and others social, economic and political equality. They aim to do this by actively developing or changing a social practice. The understand gained in the process of making these changes is then used to make further changes. This is undertaken in a four step cycle.

The first step is for the group to make a preliminary identification of the social practice they want to investigate.
The second step is to plan a set of interventions.
The third step is to implement these interventions.
The forth step is to evaluate the consequences of these interventions.

The cycle is then repeated by redefining the social practice in the light of the interventions.
