Instance dungeon

In MMORPG's, an instance dungeon is a special area, typically a dungeon, that generates a new copy, or instance, for each group that enters the area. Once a group enters the area, a separate copy of the dungeon is made such that they are the only players within that instance of the area. This ensures that there will never be competition over mobs within the instance and that any player characters receive a minimum of lag. Instance dungeons often contain stronger than usual mobs and sought-after equipment.
