Snehangshu Kanta Acharya Institute of Law
Snehangsu Kanta Acharya Institute of Law (Bengali: স্নেহাংশুকান্ত আচার্য ইনস্টিটিউট অফ ল) popularly known as SKAIL is a college of legal education in the state of West Bengal, India. This college is situated in kalyani, Nadia district. It is affiliated by the University of Kalyani.[1][2]
History
The institute was established by Sikkim Bengal Education Trust in 2004 on the main campus of Kalyani University. This college is named after Snehansu Kanta Acharya Bar-at-Law, the former Advocate General of West Bengal, knowned for his contributions in the field of law and politics. The institute was formally inaugurated by Jyoti Basu, Ex Chief Minister of West Bengal on June 30, 2004.[3]
Courses
It offers the Bachelor of Laws or B.A. LL.B degree course with LL.B. Honours for five years integrated degree programme as the under-graduate degree course in law under the University of kalyani. The present course is based on 10 semester and approved by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education as well as the Bar Council of India (BCI).[4][2]
