Labs Companies, Inc., branded as Labs, is an American artificial intelligence (AI) startup founded in 2025 by Maya Davis and Duránd Davis, headquartered in Santa Monica, California.[1]

It operates as the holding company for a group of specialized technology research labs, including Labsintelligence, its first core lab, which serves as the center of its artificial-intelligence research and develops action- and orchestration-focused foundation models and intelligent agents.[2] As of April 2025, Labs' valuation is $12.5 billion according to CB Insights.[3]

History

Labs Companies was formed in 2025 through a restructuring of LavLabs Inc.[1] Investopedia, citing PitchBook, dates the company's founding to 2018,[4] while the company's own published history describes LavLabs as a former startup studio.[5] Following the restructuring, Labs became the parent organization for seven core laboratories.[1] LavLabs was retained as one of those laboratories and is described by the company as the home of its Yuhmmy consumer platform.[5]

Technology

Labs' published research focuses on speech-to-action (STA) and speech-to-orchestration (STO).[6] It describes Actras as converting speech and interface state into actions, and Octras as converting objectives and resources into orchestration policies.[7] Labs says first-generation components of both operate through LabsAI Studio and are evaluated using its Interactive Intelligence Benchmark.[7][8]

Its products also include the planned consumer application Yuhmmy.[9]
