Archive:Advanced ANOVA/Overview

Research Methods and Professional Ethics is a 4th year tertiary-level unit at the University of Canberra (within the Centre for Applied Psychology). The research methods section of the unit constitutes 7 x 3 hour computer-lab tutorials. The content in this site has (to date) largely been authored by James Neill during the second-half of 2008, but based on earlier (non-wiki) materials developed by Professor Debra Rickwood (~2000-2007) at the University of Canberra. Note: The "professional ethics" part of the unit name refers to an extra component which examines "ethical codes, practices, and issues" for the psychology profession and human psychological research in Australia. This is part of the accrediting body's requirements for the overall 4th year degree within which this unit is offered. It is unlikely that the "ethics" teaching materials will be added to Wikiversity (due to the component being taught by other staff members), so conceivably the pages could/should be renamed in future. Learning outcomes On successful completion of the research methods section of the unit, students should be able to: critically evaluate ANOVA-type research designs in psychology; develop and carry out ANOVA-type psychological research designs; analyse ANOVA-type research data using SPSS.
