ATI HPSS

The ATI HPSS is an electronic Civil defence siren manufactured by Acoustic Technology, Inc (ATI) that is used to alert people of Tornados, Hurricans, Severe thunderstorms,fires and so on. The introduction date is unknown. It consists of 4 speakers on the HPSS16 model, and 8 on the HPSS32 model. They have been problematic since introduction, "see problems below"

Problems

• Tone-The ATIs use a 1000hz Sine wave, that creates a censor sound, that annoys many people, but in San Francisco, California , many of their ATIs have the tone of an old Federal Siganal STL-10.
• Speaker blows-Many of San Franciso's ATIs have had speaker blows due to the low pitch STL-10 tone.
• Lawsuits-ATI have had many lawsuits due to faliure and unreliabilty.
