Posing the question

To those who know, what would be the technical limitations of such a setup? How much time out of the year does the far side of the moon face the sun? Other limitations making this idea impractical?

There is no dark side of the moon... There is a side that never points towards earth, but all of the moon receives pretty much the same light, just like on earth.
