Template:Wikify-date Nagina Group is a leading textiles group of Pakistan.
It was founded by Mr. Inam Ellahi Shaikh and Mr. Ashan Ellahi Shaikh. Nagina Group was essentially based in East Pakistan. The seperation of East Pakistan from the Pakistani Federation greatly hurt Nagina Group. Nagina Group lost tanneries, a shoe factory, an ice factory, and East Pakistan's largest jute mill. Chookhil East and Paruma Eastern were the largest assests of this group.
After 1971, Nagina Group was essentially based in Pakistan. Mr. Inam Ellahi Shaikh, along with his son Mr. Shaukat Ellahi Shaikh, Mr. Shafqat Ellahi Shaikh, Mr. Shahzada Ellahi Shaikh and Mr. Humuyan Ellahi Shaikh rebuilt Nagina Group. Mr. Humuyan seperated from Nagina Group in the 1980's. Cooperation between his group and Nagina Group however remained and remains healthy.
Nagina Group was awarded by Forbes Magazine as the best performing "Under-a-billion($)" company in Pakistan. Steady, well thought out growth with a solid commitment to quality has earned the Group a family of satisfied customers, contented employees, appreciative shareholders and the confidence of the banking community. Textiles, Power Generation and
Trading activities are the core businesses and the Group expects to enjoy an annual turnover of US $80 million. Expansion of Group capacity will enhance the turnover to US $ 100 million. Currently, Nagina Cotton Mills Limited, ELLCOT SPINNING MILLS LTD and PROSPERITY WEAVING MILLS LTD. are the factories this group manages. The Group has roughly 100,000 state-of-the-art spindles in it. The Group produces Forty Eight Million Pounds (48,000,000 Lbs) of Carded and Combed yarns annually both in 100 % cotton and blends of cotton with synthetic fibers. The mills regularly produce a wide range of products from 7 Ne to 120 Ne as well as 2 Ply yarns.
The power generation division operates three separate plants attached to the textile companies of the group. The installed capacity of the division is expanding by adding additional 5.52 Megawatts of generation capacity making the total to 30.57 Megawatts. The electricity produced is used by Group companies as well as sold to other industrial concerns.
