Jane Rock (born 1948) is a painter based in Exeter, UK.
Jane studied Art in Bristol in the 60s, furthering her studies in Nijmegen in the Netherlands, she finally gave up a career in education 7 years ago to devote herself to fulltime painting. She is one of a small group of Exeter based artists who are interested in pushing the boundaries of painting the human form; line, colour and the reflection of light on skin being critical to the way they record the world they see.
Jane works mostly in oils on stretched canvas, and chalk pastels on pastel paper. Her work is often on a large scale, vivid in colour and the subject frequently becomes one with the environment.
Jane has exhibited in Germany, Holland, and U.K, and has completed several private commissions.
