Preterite of -er and -ir verbs
The preterite of -er and -ir verbs conjugate the same. Below are the ending of the conjugatations:

-tú: -iste
-Ud./él/ella: -ó
-nosotros/nosotras: -imos
-vosotros/vosotras: -isteis
-Uds./ellos/ellas: -ieron
An example preterite conjugation of -er of apprender:
- apprendí - I learned
- apprendiste - you learned (singular)
- apprendió - he/she learned
- apprendimos - we learned
- apprendistes - you learned (plural)
- apprendieron - they learned

An example preterite conjugation of -ir of salir:
