Katate Hazushi Ichi

Katate Hazushi Ichi is a Yawara technique in Danzan Ryu Jujitsu.

Technique Description

Uke (attacker) grabs Nage's (defender's) wrist. Nage turns his wrist and snaps outward at the Uke's thumb.

Technique history

Katate Hazushi Ichi is generally the first on the list of Yawara due to its very simple nature and high usefulness.

Variations

Circular escapes

Circular escapes are varitions on the art in which instead of snapping outward, Nage breaks Uke's grip by rotating his wrist around Uke's and escapes by using his wrist as a lever. Template:Martialarts-stub
