Reverb
Reverb is a guitar effect. It makes the instrument sound as though it is being played inside a large room. In the early days, this sound was achieved by electromechanical devices using springs and vacuum tubes. It became popularized through such genres as Surf in the early '60s. Today, reverb sounds are most often obtained through the use of computer chips.
