Ryote Hazushi is a Yawara technique in Danzan Ryu Jujitsu.
Technique Description
Uke (attacker) grabs both Tori's (defender's) wrists. Tori clasps his hand together and snaps upward at Uke's thumbs.
Technique history
Ryote Hazushi is generally one of the first on the list of Yawara due to its relationship to other wrist esacpes.[1]
Variations
Circular escapes
Circular escapes are variations on the art in which instead of snapping upward, Tori breaks Uke's grip by rotating his wrist around Uke's and escapes by using his wrist as a lever.
