Archive:Contextual content management

From IdeaWazaWiki

Contextual Content Management is a form of related content delivery for contents appearing on websites or other media, such as content displayed in mobile browsers. The related content itself is selected and served by automated systems based on the content displayed to the user. Which content is presented as related to the current content being viewed can be controlled by a content manager or can be automated through use of automatic, dynamic mechanisms, such as RSS feed injectors or smart folders, which are pre-configured, targeted content result sets that should relate to the current content item being viewed.

How contextual content management works

In one scenario, a contextual content management system, scans the metadata of content on a website for keywords and returns related content (that likely has also been tagged with the same keywords) to the current webpage based on what the user is viewing.[1] ?

Service providers

Contextual Corporation has pushed forth this concept of contextual content management by using open source content management systems (CMS), such as the Plone CMS. [2]
